Generation does handmade

From the 14th-16th October, The Handmade Contemporary fair will take over Hyde Park. We have created a fresh seating area on stand 1, so please do stop by to have a seat and relax, on the beautiful Industry Collection by Studio Job for Seletti.

Also, as you may know, 2016 has been the year where Generation has embraced the concept of Slow Design. Integral to this approach is looking to the production process of pieces, and the materials that are used therein. We return to the idea of creating something by hand with only the best materials and honouring the process, creating a higher quality finished product and a piece that will inevitably last through generations of use.

We will be shining a light on the pieces in our collection which are carefully handmade or finished, in our showroom downstairs, for the duration of the HMC.  From mouth blown Meteorite glasses, by Diesel with Seletti, to the Uragano , a hand bent and carved timber and cane chair by Vico Magistretti for DePadova. Be it chair or ceramic, each item represents the countless hours of practice it took until then, to create the final beautiful piece that you are taking home with you.

Maybe you need a glass that is as unique as your craft Gin, a bottle in which to store your award winning olive oil, or a sofa over which to drape your handmade throw- we have a carefully curated collection of pieces to perfectly compliment your home and your budget. To make it extra convenient,  in line with the Handmade fair, we have extended our trading hours on Friday until 9 p.m. to allow you to come in and find the perfect piece to add to your space.
