Generation launches Industry Collection by Studio Job with Seletti
Interior designers and architects are constantly on the lookout for the perfect chair, the chair that can work as well indoors as out, and is also iconic design. A chair that is so durable you can jump on it and leave it outside in the rain, with no sign of damage. If we’re really pushy, we’d also like a chair that is easy to transport to our out of town clients. Well, we have found just that, in the Industry collection by Studio Job, for Seletti- and it is exceptionally well priced. With a cast aluminium frame that is powder coated in one of 4 colours (red, green, white or black)- it is light weight, arrives flat packed in individual boxes and is contract rated.
The designers Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel created Studio Job in 2000 and have been steamrolling their way into our hearts since- from exhibiting in some of the world’s top museums, to being commissioned by suitably high-end brands such as Bulgari, Swarovski and Viktor & Rolf. We were understandably excited therefore, when we heard they had teamed up with Seletti to create the Industry Collection.
Referencing the cast iron furniture of the Victorian era, Studio Job has completely re-interpreted the concept, by using their iconic imagery to create the surfaces patterns of their new garden range. Drawing on their Maximalist graphic style this range is anything but shy “Why garden? Well, have you ever seen rock and roll garden furniture? So, here it is!” commented Smeets.
We first showed the collection at 100% Design SA in August and it has just exploded into our showroom in Hyde Park. The official trade launch on the 22nd of September is perfectly timed to welcome Summer and all the lovely outdoor living it brings. We love Studio Job’s furniture, and added to their archives collection wallpaper, an edgy take on wall adornment with wallpaper makers NLXL, we are sure you’ll be just as enamoured as we are.
